I recently found a list of some great ideas for romantic ways to surprise your spouse. It’s from Romantic Ideas Online and they have some really great tips for surprising your spouse with a romantic gesture. Some are simple and sweet and some are more elaborate and dramatic. I wanted to share with you just three of my favorites.

1. Fill a room with helium balloons and present it to your spouse with a needle.

To go one step further, I think it would be great to have the balloons already in the living room and then meet your spouse in the driveway. Hand them a ribbon-tied needle and tell them you have a surprise waiting inside. Have a blast popping them!

2. Write a love letter and send it snail mail.

I love this classic romantic gesture. A generation ago it would have been less unexpected, but no one seems to get personal mail anymore. Romantic Ideas Online even has a link to classic romantic love letters that you can use as is or just for inspiration.

3. Pick your spouse up from work in a limo.

This can be an incredible beginning to a romantic evening and it would be especially nice on a Friday evening after a long work week. Have the limo driver park in front of the office if at all possible. Wait until the driver greets your mate, then step out of the limo with a single rose or a glass of champagne. After that, it won’t matter where you’re headed in the limo, you’re guaranteed a romantic ride.

These are some great ideas that I’m going to be trying in the next little while. I’d love to hear about some romantic surprises that you and your spouse have given each other. You can never have too many ways to show your spouse that you’re madly in love!
