4 Ways to Have a More Romantic Morning

A dear friend of mine recently teased me that we were hung up on “romantic evenings” and “date nights.” She playfully suggested that we give mornings their due and sent me a link to “10 Romantic Ways to Say Good Morning” on a site called Futurescopes.com. She actually did us all a favor.

They have some great ideas for having a more romantic morning, whether it’s a leisurely Saturday or a rushed Wednesday. Maybe getting a little romance in at the start of the day is just what we need to take some of the pressure out of planning a date night. It’s also a great way to start the day.

Here are our favorite four ideas from Futurescopes:

1. Say it with flowers.

Place a bunch of your partner’s favorite blooms on the bedside table accompanied by a note wishing him/her ‘Good Morning.’ Alternatively, if you know your partner does not mind a little cleaning up, you can even strew the pillow with rose petals and if you have the time, spell out ‘Good Morning’ with them.”

2. Send a text message.

The next time you are looking for a loving way of wishing your partner Good Morning, send him/her a text message which could be as funny, mushy or heart-warming as you like.”

(We’d like to add that a hint about what awaits them later that night is a great way to make sure your spouse looks forward to seeing you later!)

3. Leave a note.

This can be as simple or as eloquent as you like; the former could come with just a Good Morning message and a lipstick impression perhaps, while the latter could have an entire love poem copied out on fine paper in your own hand.”

We think romantic quotes or an invitation to have coffee or a cocktail later are also great ideas.

4. Bring a cuppa.

This could mean either a steaming cup of Earl Grey or freshly filtered coffee from the best Arabica; just the feeling of a delicious warmth on a cold, wet morning will speak volumes about your love and affection and ensure that your partner always looks forward to waking up beside you.”

Ed does this for me every morning. I can vouch for this one myself!

Why not inject a little romance into the mornings? Weekend mornings can be a bit more elaborate, with breakfast in bed or a nice morning renedevous. Weekday mornings can include one of these quick little gestures that are every bit as romantic and can set the tone for the whole day.
